Clergy Appreciation Month

Dear Pastoral Care Representative,

Greetings to you in the majestic name of Jesus Christ our Lord!

The month of October has been designated Clergy Appreciation Month. This is a time set aside to appreciate our Pastors, their spouses, and families for serving us in ministry. The New Testament honors ministry as one of God’s highest callings. In 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, Paul encourages the Church: “Respect and Honor those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you, and to esteem them highly in love for their work’s sake.”

Pastors are gifts to God’s people and are worthy of recognition and appreciation for their faithful service. For the past two and a half years, during a pandemic that brought the world to its knees, our Pastors, Ministers, and their families have remained faithful in serving their congregations. During that time, we were faced with Covid restrictions, and we were unable to show our love and appreciation the way we used to in the past. Now that we are able to meet in person while remaining cautious, I would like to encourage you to find innovative and creative ways to honor these men and women who provide pastoral oversight, especially during these challenging times.

Please take time to “Esteem them highly for their very work’s sake” (1 Thessalonians 5:13).

May God continue to bless you richly as you give thanks for the gift of leadership, He has given to you.
